About me

Meet Esther Amalia de Jesus Fleharty!

Esther Fleharty is an epidemiologist who ran HIV clinics, oversaw community food pantries, and served on the COVID-19 task force reporting directly to the Governor’s office. Since the pandemic, she has transitioned into tech, bringing a unique perspective at the intersection of technology, public health, and working families.

A proud Latina, daughter of Mexican immigrants, and mother of two, Esther understands the struggles working families face, because she has lived them. From experiencing a miscarriage, being laid off with children at home, to earning her master’s degree while pregnant, she knows firsthand how personal issues like healthcare, economic security, and reproductive freedom truly are.

Her career in public health, tech, and her lived experiences have shaped her belief in service, compassion, and common sense. Esther is running for Congress to fight for working families and ensure every child has more opportunity, not less.
